After breaking multiple records at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time, Zootopia 2 is all set to make its digital premiere soon. OTT platform JioHotstar has listed it for release on March 13.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the latest film is the direct sequel to the first film which made waves across the globe in 2016. Released in November 2025, the film quickly climbed up the ladder in terms of revenue and kicked every milestone week after week. It grossed over $1.8 billion worldwide at the end of its theatrical run and became the ninth-highest-grossing film of all time, the second-highest-grossing film of 2025 and the highest-grossing film in the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Besides being nominated at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, Zootopia 2 has also been nominated in the Best Animated Feature Film category in the upcoming 98th Academy Awards.
Zootopia 2 sees the return of Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, who are now official partners at the Zootopia Police Department (ZPD). During a raid on a smuggling ring, they discover that a snake Gary De'Snake (Ke Huy Quan) might behind it. They follow him only to understand that a bigger crisis awaits them as the family of lynxes plan on expanding Tundratown.
While Idris Elba, Shakira, Alan Tudyk, Nate Torrence, Don Lake, Bonnie Hunt, and Jenny Slate reprise their roles from the first film, the new entrants are Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Patrick Warburton, Quinta Brunson, and Danny Trejo, among many others.
