All eyes are now at Hawkins, Will Byers, Eleven and Vecna as the war in the upside down is soon coming to an end in Stranger Things season 5. With the second volume of the fifth season set for a release in less than a week, fans are bracing for a major character's death as speculated by many on social media. As the creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, wrap up the series in less than two weeks, they have shared a shocking hint at who will be killed in the hands of Vecna and its demigorgons at the end of this season.

During a recent conversation with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, the creators used Funko dolls to spill the beans on what takes place towards the end of season 5. They stacked Vecna, Henry Creel (both played by Jamie Campbell Bower) and Will Byers' (Noah Schnapp) dolls on top of one another where Will was placed in the middle. Later, they placed all the leading characters appearing on the show surrounding them. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is submerged in water. But what surprised and shocked fans was that the Duffer Brothers kept Steve Harrington's (Joe Keery) doll close to the table's edge and pushed him. This led many to believe that the beloved character might face a brutal death during the final battle in the upside down. However, it could also be a misleading piece of information.

Towards the end of Volume 1, it was revealed that Will Byers has powers and is deriving it from Vecna to defeat and kill demigorgons. In a major twist in casting, it was also shown that actor Linnea Berthelsen had rejoined the series as Eleven's foster sister Kali Prasad after season 2.

This eight-episode season sees the return of beloved characters played by including David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay).

With the first four episodes streaming on Netflix, the second volume, consisting of three episodes, will release on December 25. The trailer of Volume 2, which was unveiled recently, showed the life-threatening stakes for the gang. It sets the stage of the unleashing of Vecna's grand plan for a new world.

The finale episode is slated for the New Year's eve. It will be releasing in theatres simultaneously with its streaming premiere
