There seems to be a feud brewing between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu yet again. The two actors have given comments against each other since 2019 and a recent statement by Taapsee seems to have irked Kangana. The latter took to her Instagram stories on Sunday morning to reiterate her “sasti copy” offensive against Taapsee.

In a now-deleted Instagram Story, Kangana had written, “One sasti copy is out and about with her upcoming B-grade film, but as usual, the only headline point with the media is Kangana Ranaut, but today, she crossed all limits, shamelessly ridiculing my upbringing/parents.”

“I think all parents do their best, and I never bring any parents in to any argument, but today, I also want to ask her parents why they couldn’t birth someone original like my parents did? Why a cheap, sasti copy? I feel sorry for your efforts,” she had added.

This outburst came in response to Taapsee’s comment on Kangana on Saturday. During a conversation with India Today, the former was asked if she has buried the hatchet now with Kangana, to which Taapsee replied, “I haven’t met her. I didn’t meet her before when these so-called issues started. I haven’t met her now as well. My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things and hers. She stands by hers. So, I think that’s enough for everybody to look at and decide who comes from where.”

The war of word between Kangana and Taapsee started in 2019 when the latter took to her social media to heap praise on the trailer of the former’s 2019 black comedy Judgementall Hai Kya. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, was written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. Also starring Rajkummar Rao and Amrita Puri, it was headlined by Kangana, whose name Taapsee didn’t mention while appreciating the trailer.

That omission riled up Kangana’s sister and then-manager Rangoloi Chandel, who referred to Taapsee as a “sasti copy” (cheap copy) of the actor on social media. Responding to that claim, Taapsee later told the media that Kangana isn’t the only one who has “copyright” over curly hair and brutally honest opinions. She also admitted to being “sasti” since Kangana was the highest paid female actor of India at the time.

The “upcoming B-grade film” of Taapsee that Kangana referred to in her deleted Instagram Story is Devashish Makhija’s action thriller Gandhari. Written by Kanika Dhillon and produced by her banner Katha Films, the film also stars Ishwak Singh, and will release on Netflix on September 3. It’ll mark Taapsee’s reunion with Kanika after the romantic crime franchise Haseen Dillruba.
