Following the success of the KGF franchise, Yash has established himself as a pan-India star with a growing global fan base. The actor is now gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions. The film recently held its pre-release event in Hyderabad, which witnessed a huge turnout of fans and film enthusiasts.
Dil Raju, the noted Telugu producer and distributor who has acquired the theatrical rights of Toxic in the Telugu states, has expressed strong confidence in both the film and Yash. Talking about the actor's decision to collaborate with Geetu Mohandas after the success of KGF, Dil Raju said, "When I came to know that Yash had chosen to work with an experimental filmmaker after the success of KGF, I was initially surprised. But after watching the rushes and visuals in Mumbai, my entire perspective changed. Yash's vision is not limited to making a pan-India film. He clearly wants to take Indian cinema to a much bigger global platform."
Dil Raju has previously grabbed attention by revealing that he was ready to offer Yash a remuneration of around ₹100 crore if the actor agreed to work with his production house. Naturally, fans have been waiting to know when the much-awaited Yash-Dil Raju collaboration will materialize. Addressing the speculation, Dil Raju said, "A film with Yash under our banner is 100 per cent happening. Yash himself has told me that the project will take off as soon as we find a powerful story that works perfectly for both of us." While the exact start date of the project remains undecided, his statement has made it clear that the collaboration is firmly on the cards.
Dil Raju also opened up about his decision to acquire the Telugu theatrical rights of Toxic without hesitation. "I had complete faith in Toxic, which is why I bought the theatrical rights for the Telugu states immediately and agreed to the amount quoted by the producers. When I spoke to music composer Vishal Mishra about the film, he told me that this could be a spectacular movie with the potential to achieve around ₹2,000 crore at the box office," he revealed.
With Yash's immense popularity, Geetu Mohandas' unique filmmaking approach and the huge expectations surrounding the project, Toxic is already creating considerable excitement among audiences across India. The film's release on August 26, is expected to further showcase Yash's ambition to take his cinema beyond traditional pan-India boundaries.
