Actor Ram Charan is leaving no stone unturned in promoting his upcoming film Peddi. After visiting Mumbai, Bhopal, and Bengaluru, the team has now reached Delhi as part of the film’s extensive promotional tour. Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead, while Boman Irani and Divyenndu appear in pivotal roles.
Speaking at the event, Ram Charan opened up about the hard work and dedication that went into making the film. He described Peddi as both an entertainer and an inspiring story.
“We have all worked on this film with great sincerity. It was a wonderful experience working with a dedicated director like Buchi Babu garu, producer Satish garu, and legendary music director AR Rahman garu,” said Ram Charan. He also acknowledged the contributions of actors Boman Irani and Divyenndu. “It’s an amazing team, and I believe all this has been possible only because of God’s grace,” he added.
Ram Charan further revealed that the team spent nearly two and a half years working on the film with complete dedication. “This is a great entertainer and also an inspiring film. I request everyone to watch this movie in theatres along with your children because they will feel truly inspired by it,” he said.
Talking about the essence of the story, Ram Charan said the film carries the soul and fragrance of rural India. “In the past, all the rural backdrop films I acted in became hugely successful. Many of India’s greatest sportspersons have come from tribal regions,” he stated.
The actor also shared details about his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the conversation they had about the film.
“Recently, when I met Prime Minister Modi ji in Delhi, he asked me what Peddi was about. I told him that the film revolves around the idea of empowering villages. At that time, he shared an interesting incident. While campaigning in West Bengal, he noticed a group of youngsters wearing jerseys on top and traditional loincloths below. They told him they had come from a remote village,” Ram Charan shared.
He further added, “Nearly 40 years ago, a man named Mohammed from that same village had played for the Indian football team. Today, more than 85 people from that village playing football. That shows how one individual’s inspiration can bring a huge transformation, said Ram Charan.
“So, one person can make a huge difference, and Peddi is about one such individual who comes from a tribal region and goes on to create an impact. At its core, the film is about identity,” said Ram Charan while comparing the story of Peddi to the real-life incident.
Janhvi Kapoor also addressed the media during the Delhi event and praised director Buchi Babu’s vision. “Director Buchi Babu garu designed a fantastic character for me in this film, and I simply followed his vision. It has been a wonderful experience working with Ram Charan, and I learnt a lot from him. This is a rooted film made for Indians in India. I am very happy to be part of this project, and we all worked extremely hard on it,” she said.
Boman Irani and Divyenndu also spoke about the film and appreciated Ram Charan’s dedication and commitment towards his role.
Peddi is all set to hit theatres on June 4. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas, while Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings are presenting it.
