Director Vijay Adireddy is coming up with a small film titled Ramani Kalyanam, starring Surya Vashissta and Deepshika Chandran in the lead roles. Produced by Kites Creations, the film’s teaser was unveiled on Tuesday at an event where senior actor Jayasudha attended as the chief guest. The film is slated for release on May 22.

Speaking at the event, Jayasudha revealed that she had already watched the film. “Both Surya Vashissta and Deepshika have performed very well. I should appreciate director Vijay for creating such beautiful characters,” she said. She also added that Vijay has a strong passion for cinema. Jayasudha mentioned that she has known him for a while, recalling that she met him in the US and even stayed with his family during one of her visits.

“I have seen the film, and it is truly beautiful. I request everyone to watch it in theatres. In recent times, several small films have become big successes, and we should encourage such films. I believe Ramani Kalyanam will be one among them,” she said. She also praised the film’s cinematography and noted that the performances of the lead pair felt very natural. “The music and overall presentation are good. There are both happy and emotional moments, making it a wholesome film,” she added.

Jayasudha further emphasized the importance of supporting small films. “Encouraging such films will bring new talent into the industry. Even though this is Vijay’s debut as a director, he has done a commendable job,” she said.

In the film, Deepshika Chandran plays a visually impaired girl, while Surya Vashissta’s character is confined to a chair, as shown in the teaser. Speaking about her role, Deepshika said, “This is a pure and emotional film. When the director narrated the story, I immediately wanted to be part of it. Vijay is like family to me, and the script moved me deeply, which helped me during the shoot.”

She added, “This film is more than just a project — it’s like a dream for me. It has given me hope in life, and I believe the audience will also feel a sense of positivity and hope after watching it.” Calling her role challenging, Deepshika said portraying a visually impaired character required a lot of effort and emotional involvement.
