Akhil Akkineni's comeback film Lenin witnessed a significant drop in collections on Monday, with the film collecting Rs 3.60 crore net in India on its fourth day. With this, the film's four-day India net collection stands at Rs 29.05 crore, while the India gross has reached Rs 33.37 crore. After a string of box-office disappointments, Akhil has finally delivered the success he had been waiting for with Lenin.

The film collected Rs 75 lakh gross overseas on Monday, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 8.05 crore. With this, Lenin's worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 41.42 crore in just four days. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the film marks Akhil's seventh outing as a lead actor, with Bhagyashri Borse playing the female lead.

Compared to Sunday's collections, Lenin recorded a steep drop of 62.7 per cent on Monday. However, the film still performed reasonably well for a weekday. It was screened in 2,122 shows across India on Monday and registered an overall occupancy of around 34 per cent, which is considered a decent hold.

Lenin has been jointly produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. According to industry sources, the film was made on a budget of around Rs 35 crore. The cast also includes Sivaji, Brahmaji, Satru, Praveen, Getup Srinu, Easwari Rao and Mahesh Achanta in key roles. Kannada actor Pramod delivered an impressive performance as Vasanth.

Released on July 10, Lenin opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film was initially scheduled for release in May but was postponed multiple times. Speaking about the delay earlier, Nagarjuna said the technical team needed more time to complete the film properly, and they preferred not to rush the release.

Akhil made his acting debut with Akhil, directed by VV Vinayak. Although the film opened well, it failed at the box office. He later experimented with different genres but couldn't score a commercial success. With Lenin, Akhil has finally registered the breakthrough he was looking for. The film's success has also brought immense joy to his father, Nagarjuna, who is celebrating the long-awaited milestone in his son's career.
