Sam CS is one of the most popular composers in South India, with his work resonating with audiences across languages. In a recent conversation with Cinema Express, the music director made a hilarious revelation. He said that filmmakers share his own songs as reference for the music they want in their films.
"I mean it for real and am not joking," Sam CS said. Then, he recalled an incident where Demonte Colony 3 director Ajay Gnanamuthu pitched Sam as the music director for his film. The producer said no to the director and instead suggested hiring "someone else" whom he had in mind. "Then, the producer played a song to the director, and that is from Mahavatar Narsimha," the composer said with his customary wit. For the unversed, Mahavatar Narsimha has composition by Sam himself.
It is worth noting that Sam is also part of Demonte Colony 3 as its main music director. The composer did not mention the name of the film Ajay Gnanamuthu was pitching to a producer or the latter's name, for that matter.
The third part in the Demonte Colony franchise stars Arulnithi, Priya Bhavanishankar, Antti Jaaskelainen, Guru Somasundaram, GM Kumar, Muthukumar, SreeKumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Kathir, Ashiq Hussain, Sarjano Khalid, and Archana Ravichandran. Its technical team also includes cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan, editor Kumaresh D, and production designer PE Krishnamoorthi.
Produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Manish Singhal, and Durgaram Choudhary, the film has wrapped production and is slated for a September 10 release in theatres. However, there is still some speculation about its postponement from the aforementioned date.
Coming back to Sam CS, the composer's upcoming projects include the Karthi starrer Sardar 2, the Keerthy Suresh-Mysskin film Sathyavan Savithiri, and Sidharth Malhotra-Tamannaah Bhatia's The Vvaan.
