Against all expectations, Mouli’s big screen debut Little Hearts has emerged as a massive box office success. Initially planned to be a small release, with a screen count of 170-180, the youthful entertainer has registered phenomenal numbers in its first four days at the ticket counters.
Most importantly, the film passed the Monday test, and held up tremendously well, collecting Rs 2.15 crore (nett) at domestic box office, as per a report from Sacnilk.com. The drop is merely 40 % percent, after an impressive business on Sunday of Rs 3.6 crore. As of now, the film has collected 0.24 crore on Tuesday, and will most likely finish in the range of 1.8-2.0 crore. The film’s domestic boxoffice figures presently stand at Rs 9.74 cr.
Besides Hyderabad, Little Hearts has best performed in Vishakhapatnam, registering over 53 percent occupancy. In the overseas market too, the film has performed very well.
Made on a budget of Rs 2.4 crore, the film was theatrically distributed by Vamsi Nandipati and Bunny Vas, and has already proved to be a profitable venture for everyone on board. It remains to be seen whether Little Hearts can continue to bring in footfalls in its second week as well, which will see the release of Teja Sajja starrer Mirai, and Kishkindhapuri, a horror-thriller starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Anupama Parmeswaran.
Written and directed by debutant Sai Marthand, Little Hearts is produced by Aditya Hasan in collaboration with ETV Win who also presented Aditya’s popular web series 90s - A Middle Class Biopic. The film is also garnering a lot of praise for its music by Sinjith Yerramilli and performance by Jai Krishna, who plays the protagonist’s ever-so-skeptic friend Madhu.
