In the past few days, the makers of Kishkindhapuri had been constantly tossing on their release plans, finally settling on September 12 as the release date after announcing for a brief period that the film would arrive on September 13. On Friday, the team shared another surprising update — Kishkindhapuri has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board, with zero cuts.

Shine Screens, the production banner for Kishkindhapuri shared the said update on their X page, captioning the post, “Get ready to scream and get scared with new-age horror in its most massive form. Kids & the faint hearted, stay away.” Starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran as ghost walk guides, the film promises to blend supernatural scares with action-heavy confrontations.

With an ‘A’ certificate, Kishkindhapuri team has a more challenging battle ahead for them, as they clash against Teja Sajja starrer Mirai that is mounted as an action-adventure spectacle with religious undertones, aimed at family audience.

Koushik Pegallapati, who made his directorial debut with Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, helms direction for Kishkindhapuri. The official trailer of the film was released earlier this week at a grand ceremony. On the occasion, producer Sahu Garapati expressed great confidence in the boxoffice potential of his film, despite a clash with Mirai.

The film has screenplay contributions from Darahas Palakollu and K Bala Ganesh, and creative inputs from G Kanishka. In the technical team, Chinmay Salaskar helms the cinematography, while Niranjan Devaramane is the editor. Production design is by Manisha Dutt, and background score by Chaitan Bharadwaj.

The film also reunites Anupama and Sreenivas after their 2019 hit Rakshasudu. While Anupama was recently seen in Praveen Kandregula's Paradha, Sreenivas’ previous release was the action-thriller Bhairavam that released in May.
