Prasanth Varma, who became a pan-India figure after his mythological superhero film HanuMan, had reportedly commenced work on several projects since, including Mahakali and Jai Hanuman, the latter also being directed by him. However, with no major release plan updates in the last 20 months about any of his projects, there were multiple reports about the HanuMan filmmaker taking advance from many production houses and not providing any work.

On Friday, DVV Entertainment officially refuted those rumours from their end. Taking to their X page, the production banner posted, “We would like to clarify that the recent speculation regarding advances taken by director Prasanth Varma from DVV Entertainment or Mr. DVV Danayya is completely false and baseless.” The banner clarified that there has no agreement or financial transaction between the two parties, and requested media outlets and social media pages to ‘verify facts before circulating such misinformation.’

According to some reports, Prasanth Varma had signed multiple deals with leading production houses, and channeled most of the funding into his Hyderabad studio. Prasanth Varma is yet to respond to the reports.

DVV Entertainment had recently produced the massive action-entertainer They Call Him OG starring Pawan Kalyan. Meanwhile, the first look of Mahakali, starring Bhoomi Shetty was unveiled recently. The film, being directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Another film titled Adhira, starring Kalyan Dasari and SJ Suryah, is in works under the same universe.
