Funky teaser: Vishwak Sen and Anudeep KV promise a meta laugh riot

The teaser brings back Anudeep’s signature silliness, set this time amid the chaos of filmmaking

The first teaser of Funky, starring Vishwak Sen and directed by Anudeep KV, is out, and it’s exactly what the title suggests, quirky, colourful, and unapologetically chaotic. The minute-long teaser is a quick-fire montage of eccentric characters, exaggerated dialogue, and situational comedy that seems tailor-made for Anudeep’s trademark farcical style.

Vishwak Sen plays Komal, a popular film director, while Kayadu Lohar stars as an actress Chitra who happens to be the daughter of a wealthy producer. The teaser unfolds through a series of rapid, funny exchanges between its chaotic and farcical characters. One line flashes across the screen, “A film with no part 2” an obvious cheeky jab at the current trend of endless sequels. The humour feels very Jathi Ratnalu-esque, exaggerated, self-aware, and packed with deliberate absurdity.

Anudeep KV, who shot to fame with Jathi Ratnalu, seems to be in familiar territory again, this time turning the lens on his own industry. Funky is described as a satire on the world of cinema and celebrity, promising plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour and playful digs at Tollywood’s quirks.

The film also stars Naresh, Muralidharan, and Tanikella Bharani in key roles. The technical team includes Bheems Ceciroleo as music composer, Suresh Sarangam of Mathu Vadalara fame as cinematographer, Naveen Nooli as editor, and Mohan Sato sharing writing credits with Anudeep.

Produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya of Fortune Four Cinemas, the film is presented by Srikara Studios. Having wrapped most of its shoot, Funky is gearing up for a December 2025 theatrical release.
