We had earlier reported about Vishwak Sen signing his next project with Jathi Ratnalu filmmaker Anudeep KV, titled Funky. On Tuesday, the makers announced the release date for its first teaser.
Funky teaser will be unveiled on Friday, October 10. The film’s production banner Sithara Entertainments shared the update on their X page, captioning “Sound. Camera. Laughter! Get ready for a full-on family entertainer that’s all Funky.” It is to be noted that Vishwak Sen’s film Laila received largely negative reviews, particularly for its crude humour.
Sithara Entertainment is co-producing the film alongside Sai Soujanya Entertainments. While the makers have not officially announced it, Dragon fame Kayadu Lohar is playing the female lead in Funky. In a recent interview, Kayadu said, “I'm acting in a film directed by Anudeep. The film is an out and out comedy. Most of the dialogues are conceived and written right on the shooting spot. Every five minutes, there will be an extremely hilarious scene."
Bheems Cecicoleo is the music director for the film. Navin Nooli helms editing. Suresh Sarangam, known for his work in the Mathu Vadalara franchise, is the cinematographer. Anudeep shares writing credits with Mohan Sato, who has previously worked on films like Needi Naadi Oka Katha and Virata Parvam.
Touted to be a satire on film industry, Funky promises to be yet another zingy comedy entertainer from Anudeep KV after his sleeper hit Jathi Ratnalu.
The film also marks second collaboration between Vishwak Sen and producer Naga Vamsi, after their 2024 crime drama Gangs of Godavari.
