On Thursday, RRR actor Ram Charan was present in Delhi where he officially launched the Archery Premiere League, which took place at Yamuna Sports Complex on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
Later, Ram Charan also partook in the Balaji Ram Leela event held at CBD ground, where the actor shot a few arrows at the Raavan effigy on the occasion, even as his wife Upasana enthusiastically recorded a video of the same. In a statement to media, Ram Charan said, “Archery is an iconic sport. It's part of our history, it's part of our culture. This is a historic event...I am very happy to be the Brand Ambassador for this.” The actor also took note of how archery has been an integral part of mythological epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata, adding that his 2022 film RRR too had him playing the role of an archer.
Ram Charan added, “We want to give back to archery our contribution. This is the first time we are having an Archery League, and we are very happy to be supporting every archer across the world and every sportsman who is part of archery. Archers across the world and especially in India will get amazing spotlight on the global platform. I hope the Indian sports lovers encourage and support this iconic support."
In a separate post on X, Ram Charan had informed his fans about launching the premier league, labelling it as a ‘celebration of precision, power and passion.’
Incidentally, Ram Charan’s next film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is a sports drama which will have cricket as a major element as part of its storyline. Ram Charan was previously seen in Shankar’s political thriller Game Changer, which failed to perform at the box office.
