Producer Dil Raju, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Thammudu, addressed recent controversy surrounding comments made by his brother and fellow producer Shirish Reddy. The remarks, which referenced the aftermath of Game Changer's performance, sparked criticism from fans of Ram Charan.
Dil Raju offered his clarification. He stated, “Charan was very helpful to us. Though we suggested he take up another film, he stood by Game Changer and dedicated more time to the project. Shirish and I share a good rapport with Charan. It was Shirish’s first time speaking to the media, he got emotional about the financial circumstances and was caught off-guard by a few manipulative questions. His choice of words wasn’t right, but there was no wrong intent.”
It all started in a recent interview where Shirish Reddy had noted that neither Ram Charan nor director Shankar had contacted them following Game Changer’s underwhelming response. He claimed their production house, Sri Venkateswara Creations, faced financial pressure post-release. The statement drew strong backlash from fans, who accused Shirish of being disrespectful to Charan.
In response, Shirish issued a public apology: “It came to my notice that my interview words were misunderstood on social media and hurt a few Mega fans. I want to clarify that Ram Charan gave his full support for our film Game Changer. We have a very good relationship with Chiranjeevi garu’s family for many years... If my words unintentionally hurt anyone, I sincerely apologise.”
Dil Raju further confirmed that a new project with Ram Charan is in the pipeline in Thammudu’s pre-release event, stating, “We carry the guilt that Game Changer didn’t live up to expectations. We will fulfil that by doing a film with Ram Charan. An official announcement will be made soon.”
Meanwhile, Dil Raju’s Thammudu, starring Nithiin, is coming to screens on July 4.
