After the disappointing performance of Robinhood and Thammudu at the box office, Nithiin has decided to slow down and be more selective with his choices. The actor is currently in a contemplative phase, focusing on scripts that offer strong storytelling along with solid entertainment. According to a source, he has signed two new films, with one scheduled to begin shooting in February 2026. These projects will be produced by Vijay Chilla and Chitturi Srinivasaa Rao.

“The first film will be directed by a debutant filmmaker and produced by Vijay Chilla. It is a complete family entertainer,” says a source close to Nithiin. Following the setbacks of his recent releases, the actor is making a conscious effort to shift towards family-oriented and romantic entertainers.

The second film will be directed by Vi Anand and is also planned as a wholesome entertainer. Both directors are currently finalizing their bound scripts, and the first project will commence shooting in February next year, the source added. Vi Anand had previously directed the Sundeep Kishan starrer Ooru Peru Bhairavakona.

“Nithiin has also decided to keep tighter control over the budgets of his upcoming films to avoid misfires like Thammudu,” the source revealed. Thammudu was made on a hefty budget but failed to perform, resulting in significant losses for the producer. Moving forward, Nithiin is determined to be more mindful of budgets while selecting projects.
