The trailer of Thammudu, starring Nithiin and directed by Venu Sriram, was unveiled on Wednesday. The trailer offers a glimpse into a high-stakes emotional action drama, with a narrative centred around a family and conflict in a remote village.
Thammudu’s trailer follows Nithiin’s character, an archer, who returns to a village called Ambaragodugu. The video opens with a voice-over referencing a promise made by his sister, played by Laya. As events unfold, Nithiin sets out to uphold that promise, navigating intense conflict and threats from local antagonists. Saurabh Sachdeva is introduced as the main villain who unleashes a large-scale massacre in the village, which Nithiin’s character aims to prevent.
While much of the plot remains under wraps, the trailer of Thammudu emphasises the emotional promise between estranged siblings. Laya, returning to Telugu cinema after several years, plays the role of Nithiin’s elder sister. Sapthami Gowda, Varsha Bollamma, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, and Temper Vamshi appear in supporting roles.
Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Thammudu marks another collaboration between Nithiin and the banner. The music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, with cinematography by KV Guhan and editing by Prawin Pudi. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 4.
Following the commercial disappointment of Robinhood, Thammudu is expected to mark a potential comeback for Nithiin.
