The official trailer of upcoming Balakrishna-Boyapati Srinu film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam was unveiled few days ago at a grand ceremony. The makers have always been clear about a massive pan-India scale release for their film.

However, now reports are coming in that the Akhanda 2 makers are now planning to dub their film in Awadhi, especially for the regions of Uttar Pradesh and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, where the dialect is common. If the reports are true, it would make Akhanda 2 the first Telugu film, and a rare Indian film to go for Awadhi dub.

It is to be noted that Akhanda continues to enjoy a massive fan following in the Hindi belt on TV and OTT, and the makers are understandably aiming to bank on the franchise popularity with this decision.

The Balakrishna starer also features Samyuktha in a major role. Set to release on December 5, the Balakrishna starrer is expected to have a massive opening at the box office opening. Saturday onwards, depending on the word-of-mouth impact and buzz around Sharwanand starrer Biker which releases on December 6, it remains to be seen how well Akhanda 2 fares at the box office overall.

Produced under 14 Reels Plus banner, Akhanda 2 marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu, after three hits like Akhanda, Simha, and Legend. Meanwhile, Boyapati Srinu’s previous film Skanda was a commercial failure.

Thaman S, who composed music for Balakrishna’s previous outing Daaku Maharaaj, is also the music director for Akhanda 2. The latest single of the film, ‘Jajikaya’ was launched nearly two weeks ago.
