Chiranjeevi on iBomma mastermind arrest: Hard work of so many people ruined by one entity is unacceptable

A major breakthrough arrived for Telugu film industry on Monday, with the alleged mastermind behind iBomma and Bappam piracy racket being arrested by the Cyber Crime Unit of Hyderabad. Later in the day, the team held a press meet to share further about the details. Many eminent film personalities like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Dil Raju were present at the press meet.

On the occasion, Chiranjeevi addressed the subject, underlining its gravity and the enormity of repercussions of piracy on the film industry. He said, “We have been battling this issue of film piracy since so many years now. The hard work of so many people being ruined by one single entity is unacceptable.”

Noting the impact of piracy on many 2025 releases like Game Changer, Kingdom, OG, and Thandel, Chiranjeevi stated, “Now SS Rajamouli is making such a massive film Varanasi, planning to take our cinema on a global level. At a juncture like this, piracy remains a huge challenge that must be tackled with urgency.”

Chiranjeevi thanked the police department for their understanding of and active measures towards eradicting piracy and alleviating the hardships faced by the industry because of it. “We hope that we can continue the efforts in this direction,” he added. 

Among others, film producers Suresh Daggubati and KL Damodar Prasad were present at the press meet as well.
