Rashmika Mandanna-starrer The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran, hit the screens last Friday and has been receiving strong appreciation from audiences. Dheekshith Shetty stars opposite Rashmika in the film, while Anu Emmanuel appears in a supporting role.

The makers have officially announced that Vijay Deverakonda will attend the film’s success celebrations scheduled for Wednesday in Hyderabad. The actor’s presence is drawing attention, especially amid reports that his engagement with Rashmika took place privately in Hyderabad a few weeks ago. With wedding rumours doing the rounds, Vijay’s appearance at her film event has only fuelled further speculation about the couple.

Presented by veteran producer Allu Aravind, a grand pre-release event was planned for the film, which was later cancelled for undisclosed reasons. Interestingly, Allu Aravind had earlier expressed his wish to have Vijay as the chief guest — a wish now fulfilled through this success celebration.

Despite a slow start on its opening day, The Girlfriend picked up momentum from the second day onward, earning positive word of mouth. With Vijay’s attendance expected to add star power, the makers are hopeful that the collections will see an additional boost for the Rahul Ravindran directorial in the coming days.
