On the occasion of Tabu’s birthday on Wednesday, the makers unveiled a glimpse of her character in the film. She plays Mahanthi Jhansi Rani, a role that has already sparked curiosity among audiences. Tabu’s last Telugu film was Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. She played Allu Arjun’s mother in the film, which went on to become an industry hit.
The actor has also signed the bilingual film Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road, starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film has been completed and is awaiting release.
Interestingly, Tabu made her debut as a lead actress with the Telugu film Coolie No. 1, opposite Venkatesh and directed by legendary filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao. The film was a success, and Tabu went on to establish herself across Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
