Emraan Hashmi has been diagnosed with dengue during the ongoing shoot of the Pawan Kalyan starrer OG in Mumbai. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Hashmi was filming his scenes at Aarey Colony, Goregaon, when he began experiencing symptoms associated with dengue. Following medical advice, he underwent diagnostic tests, which confirmed the illness.

The production team of OG was informed promptly, and shooting involving the actor has been paused temporarily. Reports indicate that Hashmi is currently recovering at home and is expected to be out of action for at least a week, though his return will depend on the pace of his recovery. The actor and team are yet to issue an official statement.

OG, directed by Sujeeth of Saaho fame and produced by DVV Entertainment, marks Emraan Hashmi’s debut in Telugu cinema. He plays the main antagonist, Omi Bhau, opposite Pawan Kalyan. The film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan and is scheduled for a global release on September 25.

The film’s production had recently resumed after a long break, with this schedule expected to feature crucial face-off sequences between Hashmi and Kalyan. With the latest health setback, the team is expected to revise the shooting timeline.

OG features music by Thaman S and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran. The film, billed as a high-octane gangster entertainer, is one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year. Meanwhile, a recent video of Pawan Kalyan is circulating online where he is seen in his OG costume getting into his car.
