After registering sensational collections with its special premiere shows held on Wednesday evening, Pawan Kalyan-starrer Hari Hara Veera Mallu somewhat managed to sustain the craze on its opening day at domestic box office, collecting approximately Rs 38 crore on Thursday.

However, according to a report from trade tracker Sacnilk.com, the film’s performance at overseas markets has been underwhelming. The film has reportedly grossed nearly Rs 12 crore in overseas on day, taking its gross day 1 figures to nearly Rs 50 crore.

However, the staggering performance of Hari Hara Veera Mallu with its premiere shows takes its overall opening figures to Rs 65 crore, making this film the highest Pawan Kalyan opener. The film breaks the record of Bheemla Nayak, which released in 2022 and grossed Rs 57 crore on day 1.

The overall critical reception and audience’s word-of-mouth response has been largely lukewarm. So it remains to be seen whether Hari Hara Veera Mallu can sustain the interest levels on the next three days, taking its opening weekend domestic figures to the 100-crore mark or beyond.

Reportedly budgeted at Rs 300 crore, the film had its domestic theatrical rights sold at 126 crore. So the film needs to gross well over Rs 250 crores to break even.

Produced by A Dayakar Rao under Mega Surya Production and presented by AM Rathnam, Hari Hara Veera Mallu also released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam markets where it didn’t show strong footfalls.

Directed by Jyothi Krisna, with additional direction by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is set in the 17th-century Mughal era. It follows the story of Veera Mallu, an outlaw who rises against oppressive rule to fight for justice and dharma. Pawan Kalyan plays the titular role, while Bobby Deol stars as the primary antagonist. The cast also includes Nidhhi Agerwal. The film’s music has been composed by MM Keeravani.
