The makers of Ghaati unveiled their third single, ‘Sirimara Sirimara,’ on Saturday, offering audiences a song that’s equal parts soothing and memorable. Sung by Anurag Kulkarni and Lipsika Bhashyam, with tender notes from Baby Maanvitha Nagavelli, the track carries a rich folk essence. Lyricist Es Murthy has woven earthy Telugu and Odia together, talking about the everyday brightness of romance.

The composition by Sagar Nagavelli keeps things simple yet poetic, letting the vocals and folk influences breathe. Ghaati sees Anushka Shetty teaming up once again with director Krish Jagarlamudi after their much-acclaimed Vedam (2010).

Produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, Ghaati is set in the tribal heartlands of Andhra Pradesh and explores how an unsuspecting community finds itself pulled into a sprawling drug mafia. Anushka plays a bus conductor whose life with her partner, Raju (played by Vikram Prabhu), takes a sharp turn when the community realises the danger it is entangled in.

Ghaati’s supporting cast features Jagapathi Babu, Chaitanya Rao, and Ravindra Vijay, among others. With dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, art direction by National Award-winner Thota Tharani, and cinematography by Manojh Reddy Katasani, the film brings together a solid technical crew.

Releasing on September 5, Ghaati promises a darker and more intense side of Anushka, a sharp contrast to her last appearance in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. The film releases alongside Mouli’s Little Hearts.
