The much-anticipated Mirai trailer dropped on Thursday, and it's everything makers teased until now! The epic trailer sets the stage for the film's pan-Indian release on September 12 with major banners backing the film’s distribution.

Mirai’s trailer kicks off with Teja Sajja's character being introduced with a "nothing is your own" philosophy, immediately setting the tone for what's clearly going to be an epic hero’s journey narrative. And things get interesting when we meet the antagonist, Manchu Manoj's menacing Black Sword character, who's on a quest to find nine holy books that'll make him invincible. And if he succeeds? It’s a huge threat for people

This is where Teja Sajja’s character's destiny unfolds. Teja must attain Mirai, described as "a weapon created from the path that Lord Rama walked in during Treta Yuga," to defeat Black Sword and save humanity from the existential threat. The trailer showcases Teja's character traversing diverse landscapes and terrains, undergoing intense training to master this sacred staff.

Shriya Saran appears to have a strong role as Teja's mother, and from what we can see, she passes away early on but creates a path for Teja’s character to follow along and attain the staff. The trailer's final moments deliver what the makers have been teasing as a surprise, Lord Rama appears in the film, though the team is keeping the casting under wraps for now.

Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, who also handles the cinematography, Mirai is touted as a high-concept action adventure that blends mythology with modern superhero tropes.

Mirai has music by Gowra Hari, who also scored for Teja's HanuMan, editing by Sreekar Prasad and production design by Nagendra Tangalla. The film's supporting cast includes Ritika Nayak, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu. Backed by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad production of People Media Factory, the film is set to release in both 2D and 3D formats across eight languages.
