Ram Charan, who was previously seen in Shankar’s Game Changer, is working with Uppena filmmaker Buchi Babu Sana in Peddi. The film is slated to release in March 2026. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Peddi team commence shoot for a major song sequence.
Taking to their social media pages, the Peddi team shared that the big-scale introduction song featuring Ram Charan will have 1000 background dancers. The song, being shot in Mysore, is being choreographed by Jani Master, who was arrested in 2024 on sexual assault charges involving a minor.
Notably, the film also marks the return of AR Rahman to Telugu cinema after nearly 15 years.
The Peddi team also uploaded a video, wishing film-goers on Ganesh Chaturthi, adding the caption, “Working tirelessly to give you the best - no festivals, no holidays.” Peddi is being produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, with presentation by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The film was earlier planned to be a Jr NTR vehicle, being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, before Vriddhi Cinema took over the project.
Peddi was officially announced earlier this year and is reportedly mounted on a large scale. A promotional glimpse released earlier had generated considerable buzz across languages, with expectations set high among audiences.
The sports drama stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, with veteran actors Shivarajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. A few months ago, Mirzapur fame Divyenndu joined the cast, set to play a role with negative shades. The crew includes cinematographer R Rathnavelu and editor Navin Nooli.
