A few days ahead of their film's release, Ghaati co-producer Rajeev Reddy interacted with media. On the occasion, the producer spoke about his ambitions with the Anushka Shetty-starrer.

Rajeev Reddy said, "We always wanted to make a commercial action drama with a female superstar. He added, “After Karthavyam, there was no film on that scale again. Among the current generation, only Anushka gaaru has such stardom.”

Clarifying that Ghaati is a fictional story, Rajeev Reddy noted, “We wanted to make a story in the backdrop of ganja, but there was a discussion about whether to make it a movie or a web series. After deciding the subject with Anushka, we finalised on a movie project.” Rajeev Reddy added, “It’s a full-on actioner, and will have a trademark Krish Jagarlamudi style.”

Starring Vikram Prabhu as male lead, Ghaati will also be released in Tamil on September 5. Upon it’s release, Ghaati will clash against Mouli-starrer Little Hearts. The film is produced under First Frame Entertainment. 

Presented by UV Creations, Ghaati tells the story of a tribal community, led by Anushka’s character who unwillingly become accomplice in a massive drug mafia nexus. Krish Jagarlamudi has written the script, sharing ‘additional screenplay’ credits with D S Kannan and Ramana Salwa. Chintakindi Srinivas Rao has penned the story, while dialogues are by Sai Madhav Burra

The film also includes prominent names like Jagapathi Babu, Ravindra Vijay and Chaitanya Rao Madadi in the ensemble cast. Sagar Nagavelli is the music director. In the technical team, Thota Tharani is the art director and Manojh Reddy Katasani is the cinematography. Editing is co-helmed by Venkata Swamy Nakka and Chanakya Reddy Toorupu. Action choreography is by Ram Krishnan. 

Anushka and Krish had earlier worked together in Vedam (2010) which was a pathbreaking hit. Anushka was last seen in the rom-com Mrs Shetty Mr Polishetty which released in September 2023.
