Special glimpse of Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara to be out on this date; Megastar also announces release window

Directed by Vasshistha, Vishwambhara also stars Trisha in a prominent role

It’s been a while since the makers of Chiranjeevi starrer Vishwambhara provided an update on their release plans. Reportedly, the makers had decided to redo their VFX work after the criticism received for the first teaser of their film which was released in October last year year. On Thursday morning, Chiranjeevi released a video speech, informing that a special glimpse of Vishwambhara will be unveiled on August 21, 6.06pm, on the eve of the actor’s birthday.

Further talking about the reasons for delay in Vishwambhara’s release,  Chiranjeevi stated in the video, “The entire of second half depends on VFX and graphics, so the team is going beyond their limits to ensure that audience gets the best visual spectacle possible.” It is to be noted that a number of international artists have been called in to contribute to the post-production work for Vishwambhara. 

Chiranjeevi assured that Vishwambhara’s story will entertain kids and adults alike, particularly taking the latter to their childhood days of chandamama kathalu

In the video, Chiranjeevi also confirmed that Vishwambhara is slated for a Summer 2026 release. Although the actor didn’t mention a specific date, Vishwambhara makers are reportedly planning to release their film in April 2026. Chiranjeevi’s MEGA157, meanwhile, which commenced shoot in May 2025, is scheduled to release in January 2026, on the occasion of Sankranthi.

Vishwambhara features Trisha in the lead role, alongside Aashika Ranganath, Kunal Kapoor, Ramya Pasupaleti, Esha Chawla, and Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri. The socio-fantasy drama is backed by UV Creations, with V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati, and Vikram Reddy serving as producers, and directed by Bimbisara filmmaker Vassishta Mallidi.

Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani has composed the soundtrack. Additionally, Bheems Ceciroleo has been roped in as a guest composer. For Vishwambhara, the cinematography is is by Chota K Naidu, and sets are designed by AS Kumar.
