The teaser for Vishwambhara, the upcoming socio-fantasy film starring Chiranjeevi, was generated entirely using artificial intelligence and did not feature any actual footage or VFX from the film, revealed senior producer Mallidi Satya Narayana Reddy, father of the film’s director Vassishta Mallidi of Bimbisara fame, in a recent interview.
Talking about the Vishwambhara’s VFX, the director’s father, Satya Narayana Reddy, stated, “CG companies said that they would finish it in three months. The film’s team gave them six months and decided to release the movie during Sankranthi. However, the VFX work didn’t finish even in six months. As the VFX work wasn’t finished, they used AI technology visuals for the teaser. Now, the makers decided strictly not to use AI visuals.”
Vishwambhara has been in the spotlight since the teaser was released a few months ago. It received criticism for what viewers assumed was poor visual effects work. Following the criticism, the team decided to postpone the film’s Sankranthi release in order to focus on completing the actual VFX work.
Vishwambhara is produced by UV Creations and stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. The cast includes Ashika Ranganath, Kunal Kapoor, Ramya Pasupuleti, Esha Chawla and Ashrita Vemuganti. Chota K Naidu is the cinematographer, with sets designed by AS Kumar. Academy Award-winner MM Keeravani has composed music for the socio-fantasy. The film is currently in post-production and has yet to receive a release date.
