Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who made her production debut earlier this year with Subham, hasn’t headlined a Telugu cinema in nearly 2 years. Both her major previous films — Kushi and Shaakuntalam — released in 2023. In a recent interview, the Kushi actor spoke about her revised career plans, and why won’t be taking multiple films at once again.

Talking to Grazia India, the actress said, “I’ve reached a point where I do things I’m extremely passionate about, and that includes both fitness and films.” Candidly admitting that not all of her film or series projects were ‘passion projects,’ the actor added, “Now, every single thing I do, every business I invest in, every film that I produce, all have my heart.”

The actor, who made a her debut with Ye Maaya Chesave, recently completed 15 years in the industry.  Talking about why would now prioritise her health above multiple acting projects, Samantha stated, “One thing I’ve realised is that I need to listen to my body. Now on, everything I do and put my energy into matters so much more. Nothing is for the heck of it. I no longer shoot five films at a time. Yet, while the quantity may have reduced, the quality of projects has definitely increased,” she said.

Samantha also made a comical cameo appearance in Subham, which released in May this year, and was directed by Paradha director Praveen Kandregula. Samantha’s last major acting appearance was in Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Prime Video series by Raj & DK where she shared screen the Varun Dhawan.

Samantha’s upcoming projects include Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, created by Raj & DK. The ambitious series, which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jaideep Ahlawat is tentatively slated to premiere in 2026. She is also producing a film titled Maa Inti Bangaaram, again under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures.
