Subham, Samantha’s maiden feature film production, is slated for a theatrical release on May 9, clashing against films like #Single and Kaliyugam 2064. On Saturday, the makers released the first single of their film.
The song, titled ‘Janma Janmala Bandham (remix)', is composed by the Shor Police group, which comprises Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes. Bianca is also one of the playback singers, sharing credits with Zain Boxwala. The new single is a groovy composition, heavy on dance beats and a techno sound which, when coupled with traditional Telugu lyrics, creates a funky atmosphere.
The song video features Samantha herself, shaking a leg along with the film’s six lead actors, and having a blast together. The lyrics are by Shor Police, Zain Boxwala and Abhiram Mahankali.
Bankrolled under Samantha’s Tralala Moving Pictures, Subham features Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Shravani Lakshmi, and Shalini Kondepudi in the lead cast. The film is directed by Praveen Kandregula, who is known for his acclaimed indie film Cinema Bandi. Vasanth Mariganti is the writer.
The film has some impressive names in the crew, including The Family Man co-creator Raj Nidimoru, who is onboard as the creative producer. Vivek Sagar has composed the background score. Cinematography is by Mridul Sujit Sen.
Apart from Subham, Praveen Kandregula has another feature, Paradha, slated for release in coming few months.
