The official trailer of upcoming Telugu series Arabia Kadali was unveiled on Friday. The Prime Video original, based on true events, is created by Krish Jagarlamudi and stars Satyadev and Anandhi in prominent roles.

Directed by VV Surya Kumar, Arabia Kadali promises to narrate an intense and high-takes story about a group of fishermen from Bhadrapatnam, led by Badri (Satyadev), who are held captive in Pakistan after being caught on international waters. What initially seems like a case of minor legal misunderstanding assumes gigantic proportions as Badri and his friends find it impossible to make it back to their country. What ensues is a complicated chain of bureaucratic decision-making and conflicts in international relationships before the innocent men, labelled ‘anti-national’ can be acquitted.

Incidentally, another recent Telugu project, the Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi starrer Thandel, was based on same series of events. Arabia Kadali promises to explore the story with greater depth and more emphasis on the socio-political repercussions that were caused by the event. 

Also co-written by Krish Jagarlamudi in collaboration with Chintakindi Srinivas Rao, Arabia Kadali boasts of a stellar supporting cast, including names like Harsh Roshan, Nasser, Raghu Babu, Dalip Tahil, Poonam Bajwa, Prabhavathi, Pratyusha Sadhu, Kota Jayaram, Vamsi Krishna, Bharath Bhatia, Chandra Pratap Thakur, Danish Bhatt, Ravi Varma, Amith Tiwari, Nihar Pandya, and Alok Jain.

Satyadev was recently seen in Kingdom, where he received a lot of acclaim for his performance as Siva. Krish Jagarlamudi, meanwhile, is also gearing up for next feature film Ghaati, which marks the comeback for Anushka Shetty. 

Vidya Sagar has composed music and background score for the series.  Arabia Kadali is produced by Y Rajeev Reddy and J Sai Babu. The show will begin streaming on Prime Video on August 8.
