Jiiva's upcoming film Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan is virtually ready for its theatrical release. While its producer, Dato Abdul Malik of Malik Streams Corporations, or co-producer Razik Ahamad, is yet to announce a release date, the film has completed its censorship process. Director M Rajesh's film has received a UA 13+ rating from the Central Board of Film Certification. According to the information available on the CBFC website, the film has a runtime of around 141 minutes.

Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan brings Jiiva back in a lead role with director M Rajesh after 2009's Siva Manasula Sakthi. Also part of the cast are Ivana, Parithabangal Sudhakar, Rethika Srinivas, Abdool Lee, Raj Ayyappa, and Bagavathi Perumal, among others.

Earlier, the film's makers planned to bring Siva Manasula Sakthi back to theatres again as part of promotions for JIO, but Jiiva's father, RB Choudhary of Super Good Films, passed away in the meantime.

Malik Streams Corporations is yet to disclose the specific details about its storyline. However, the recently released glimpse for the film teases a story in which the protagonist goes through a transformation due to the impact of his love life. The makers describe it as "a fun-filled entertainer."

On the technical front, Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan has music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, editor Ashish Joseph, cinematographer M Sukumar, and production designer Hasini Pavithra.

Jiiva was most recently seen in a cameo role in Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's directorial venture S Saraswathi, which hit theatres in March this year. In Tamil, the actor was last seen in this year's political satire Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, directed by Nithish Sahadev. The actor's upcoming films include Thagappan, directed by Ra Venkat of Kida fame. Jiiva announced in August that production on Thagappan has been wrapped and that it is expected to release in December. He has a long-awaited film, a madcap comedy that is similar to Sundar C-Vishal's Madha Gaja Raja, as well.
