Suriya is gearing up for the November 06 release of Scene, his third film this year, directed by Romancham and Aavesham fame Jithu Madhavan. The film marks the actor's first collaboration with Nazriya Nazim, who makes her comeback to Tamil cinema after 12 years with it. At a promotional event for the film, Suriya spoke about Nazriya's comeback and her performance in the film.
"Sometimes, I want to work with a good actor. Three times, we asked, she rejected. I think this is the fourth attempt, and now she said okay. It is okay, for 10-12 years, she said no to so many directors and actors, but thank you for finally accepting our film and doing it," Suriya told Nazriya.
Recently, Nazriya also acknowledged not being able to do multiple films with Suriya because of scheduling constraints. At the same time, the actor called it "a dream come true" to be able to star alongside Suriya. At the Hyderabad event, Suriya returned the compliment, praising his co-star's spontaneity in front of the camera.
Suriya shared, "Apart from all this, I really admire the actor you are. I love the confidence and the clarity you have, as well as the way you prepare for the scene. You do not see her separately preparing—she is a 'Natural Star'."
Nazriya is usually known for her girl-next-door type characters, something which viewers describe as 'cute' and 'bubbly'. However, she has also explored rather intense shades in films such as Bangalore Days, Trance, and Sookshmadarshini. Then again, Scene will see her do something unprecedented: stunts.
Speaking about her role and performance in the film, Suriya added, "Maya is a different character, and she has amazingly pulled it off. You will watch it in the film. And the effort she has taken for the stunt sequences also.... Every time, even after so many years, she has these butterflies in the stomach, it shows her sincerity."
