The audio launch of Dhanush's upcoming film Om - Chapter 1: Udhiram - The Blood Wood will be held on November 6 at Sairam Engineering College in Chennai. The makers announced the news on social media on Sunday, sharing a promotional video confirming the venue and date of the event.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Om marks the filmmaker's third directorial venture after Rangoon and the National Award-winning Amaran. The film brings together Dhanush and Malayalam actor Mammootty for the first time. The ensemble cast also includes Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Naseeruddin Shah and Indrans, among others.

The film was initially announced as Dhanush's 55th project as a lead actor and was tentatively referred to as D55 before the makers revealed its title, Om - Chapter 1: Udhiram - The Blood Wood. While the makers have kept several aspects of the story under wraps, the film is described as an action thriller. It is expected to feature an extensive forest backdrop, with portions of the film shot in locations including Thiruvannamalai and Malaysia.

The film was originally scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, a day after Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. However, Dhanush announced that the release would be postponed as a mark of respect to the superstar and to avoid a box-office clash. He also clarified that the film would not arrive during the Diwali window, as Suriya's Scene had already locked its release date. The makers subsequently announced November 20 as the film's new worldwide theatrical release date.

Om has music composed by Sai Abhyankkar, marking his collaboration with Dhanush and Rajkumar Periasamy. Ezhil Arasu K handles cinematography, while R Kalaivanan is in charge of editing. The film is produced by Dhanush, Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag under Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios.
