Joining the long list of directors who met and greeted newly-elected Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, his Leo film director Lokesh Kanagaraj on Tuesday personally went and wished the actor-turned-politician for a successful tenure. He shared pictures from the meet which is now being circulated widely on social media.

Previously, filmmakers AR Murugadoss and Venkat Prabhu called on the CM and greeted him. The latter presented a numberplate TN-07-CM-2026, from their 2024 spy thriller, GOAT, a reference to Vijay's political aspirations at that time. Representatives of the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and the Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA) also met him. Actors Arjun, and Shanthnu also visited him to share their wishes last week.

Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo (2023) starring Vijay in the lead was partially inspired by the David Cronenberg film A History of Violence. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Mathew Thomas played key roles in the film which was met with commercial success at the box office.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is awaiting the release of DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran, which marks his acting debut. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy as the female leads.

The director last made Coolie with Rajinikanth in the lead. It starred Nagarjuna as the antagonist. Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram were also part of the cast which also featured Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde in special appearances. The filmmaker is currently working with Allu Arjun on the untitled AA23.
