Recently, filmmaker Mari Selvaraj met the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's leader MK Stalin and the new Leader of the Opposition and the former Chief Minister's son Udhayanidhi. The filmmaker shared pictures featuring him with Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin on social media. He also shared his respect and affection for Stalin and conveyed his best wishes to Udhayanidhi on the politician's journey as the Opposition Leader.
Days after his meeting with the DMK members, Mari Selvaraj has shared his thoughts on the newly formed coalition cabinet in Tamil Nadu. Taking to X, the filmmaker shared, "I convey my thanks and profound appreciation to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which has structured its government's first cabinet as a coalition cabinet in a manner that instills faith in social justice, and to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Honorable Mr Joseph Vijay."
Mari Selvaraj is known for championing the cause of Dalits and advocating their rights in his films. The filmmaker hinted at his expectation that the new coalition cabinet led by Vijay would uphold similar values. "Furthermore, with great anticipation for the young-generation ministers included in this cabinet, with grand dreams for the Scheduled Caste and minority ministers who have found a place, and with a great goal in mind for the coalition party ministers who have joined, I share my congratulations and warm regards," he wrote.
He signed off his post, saying, "May the people's services flourish."
Earlier, when TVK won the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election, the filmmaker expressed his sadness on the loss of DMK and Stalin. The director suggested that TVK won the election because of people's love and affection for Vijay as an actor and he congratulated the party and its leader on the victory. Subsequently, Mari also condemned the leak of Jana Nayagan.
On the film front, Mari Selvaraj most recently directed Bison Kaalamaadan, starring Dhruv Vikram and Pasupathy in the lead roles.
