Rashmika Mandanna appears ready to swap her quiet days at home for a busy shooting schedule. The actor, who had stepped away from work after suffering a hip injury during the filming of Mysaa, has indicated that her recovery break is nearing its end.
Taking to Instagram, Rashmika shared a glimpse of what her time away from the sets looked like. From spending time with her pets and family to solving puzzles, relaxing at home and enjoying the slower pace of life, the actor appeared to have made the most of the unexpected downtime. “I am getting back to work soon, and I am definitely going to miss all of this!” she wrote.
Rashmika had earlier detailed the extent of her injury in August, revealing that one of the tendons connecting her right hip to her leg had detached during a dance sequence for Mysaa. Calling it her third injury in succession, she also admitted that the experience had reminded her that she needed to treat her body “like a human body and not some machine.” Reports at the time said she had been advised a period of rest and rehabilitation.
Her return comes at an important point in her career, with several high-profile projects lined up. Among them is Rahul Sankrityan’s period action drama Ranabaali, which reunites Rashmika with Vijay Deverakonda. She plays Jayamma in the film, which also stars Arnold Vosloo. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is now scheduled to release worldwide on October 16, after its earlier plans were affected by Rashmika’s injury.
Meanwhile, Rashmika’s name has also been linked to the long-discussed biopic on legendary Carnatic vocalist MS Subbulakshmi. Recent reports claim that the actor could portray the iconic singer, with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri reportedly attached to the project. However, an official announcement regarding Rashmika’s casting is still awaited.
Helmed by Rawindra Pulle, Mysaa is backed by Unformula Films. Billed to be Rashmika's first female-led pan-India action film, the film is expected to open in theatres later this year.
