Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which hit theatres on December 5, is all set to premiere on OTT four months after its theatrical release. The Five Nights at Freddy's sequel saw Emma Tammi return back to the director's chair after the first film. The film opened to unfavourable reviews upon its release.
The film saw the return of Josh Hutcherson as Mike along with Matthew Lillard, Piper Rubio as Abby, and Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa. Five Nights At Freddy's 2 also stars Wayne Knight, Freddy Carter, Theodus Crane, Teo Briones, McKenna Grace, Skeet Ulrich, Kellen Goff, and Megan Fox, among others.
Five Nights At Freddy's 2 will be available to stream on JioHotstar on April 5. The first film’s story follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson), who begins working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza as a security guard. On the first night of his job, he discovers the animatronic mascots are possessed by ghosts of murdered children and must survive the night, uncovering a dark connection to his own brother’s kidnapping.
The sequel, set a year after the events of the first film, sees Mike guarding the secrets of the events from Abby to protect her from the fate of her animatronic friends. However, she sneaks out to reconnect with her robot friends, which turns on a series of sinister events that take us back to the dark secrets about the origin of Freddy's.
An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "The screenplay aimlessly strays into the subplot of a group of paranormal trackers getting trapped in Freddy's, only to introduce jump scares, which is uncharacteristic of this milieu. There are ghosts. The USP of Five Nights at Freddy's is that the ghosts of the kidnapped and murdered children are trapped inside the giant animatronics." The film is based on the eponymous novel by Scott Cawthon, who also penned the film's script.
