Actor, director, singer, lyricist and producer, Dhanush was last seen in Vignesh Raja's Kara. During the audio launch of the film, when he was asked about his son Yatra making his cinema debut, he said, "I came into acting at the age of 16 because of my circumstances. He is just 19 now, and I still see him as a kid. I don’t know what he will become yet; it’s too early to say."

However, speculations are rife that Dhanush is all set to take on his fifth feature as a filmmaker, which will introduce his son, Yatra. As per reports, the film will be backed by RTake Studios, which is currently behind the actor's D55, helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy.

If reports are to be believed, GV Prakash will compose music for the film while Velraj will crank the camera. Rumours have it that the film's look test has been completed with a launch ceremony expected soon. However, the project is yet to be officially announced by the makers.

It is to be noted that Dhanush recently introduced his nephew, Pavish, in Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). Dhanush made his directorial debut with Pa Paandi in 2017. He then made Raayan in 2024 and NEEK in 2025. His last directorial work is Idli Kadai, which is also released in 2025.

Meanwhile, Dhanush has a number of films in his pipeline. His next, D55, will also star Mammooty, Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi. He is set to reunite with Mari Selvaraj after Karnan for a film which will feature music by AR Rahman. He will also be working with Lubber Pandhu director Thamizharasan Pachamuthu on a film.

Some reports suggested him joining hands with PS Mithran for a film backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and another with Siva, which are yet to be confirmed. Also in his pipeline are his Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam biopics—the production development details of which are scanty.
