Actor Swasika, who rose to fame in Tamil after her performance in Lubber Pandhu, is fresh off the success of Suriya's Karuppu. In the RJ Balaji directorial, she played a small grey-shaded role alongside the director-actor.

In a recent interview with SS Music following the film's success, Swasika was asked about films she has skipped so far, during which she revealed she was offered a role in Arjun's latest actioner, Blast. She also spoke about the kind of roles she wishes to explore.

"I was offered the mother's role—Abhirami's character in Blast—but I couldn't do it," she revealed. Further explaining the reason, she added, "The offer came around the same time as I was shooting Karuppu and other projects I was already committed to. The dates they offered simply didn't work out for me."

However, Swasika is disappointed about missing the role. "But when I look back now, I really wanted to do an action film like that. Maybe it would have turned out differently, I don't know. The film seems to have come out well, and since I had a strong desire to do an action movie, missing it was disappointing. Still, I hope to do a full-fledged action film someday. That's something I really want to try," she explained.

While Swasika is yet to tick an action film off her checklist, she also wishes to explore a different kind of role. "I'd also love to play a historical character—someone like Kannagi, or even a divine figure such as Karuppasamy or one of the local goddesses worshipped in our villages," she disclosed.

Sharing why she's drawn towards such roles, she continued, "Recently, I visited the Masani Amman temple near Pollachi. When I see such places and stories, I feel inspired to portray a devotional, historical, or divine character. I like roles with intense power and emotion, characters who embody righteous fury and perform a kind of fierce divine dance. Maybe if someone makes a film centred on a female deity or a similar subject in the future, it would be wonderful if I could be part of it."

Swasika previously starred in Suriya's Retro but didn't share the screen with the actor in the film. Her other Tamil films include Maaman and Bhogee. She is currently awaiting the release of Nooru Saami in Tamil, in which she stars alongside Vijay Antony. The Sasi directorial is scheduled for June 19.
