There has been more excitement around Vikram's social media activity than ever before after his son, Dhruv, dropped a video featuring his father's candid moments accompanied by the 'Ennodu Nee Irundhaal' song from his 2015 film I. Earlier this Wednesday, director Anand Shankar shared a still of the actor, who stars in his upcoming film, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63. In the new still, the actor can be seen sporting sunglasses, holding a flame with his hands whose reflection is visible in his eyewear.
The photograph has been having Vikram fans buzzing with excitement over the upcoming project. "Fanboy sambavam loading," wrote one fan, while others expressed their eagerness for the project and others asked for updates about it.
The latest poster is quite similar to the image that producer Sathya Jyothi Films shared at the time of the project's announcement that features Vikram smoking what looks like a beedi.
Chiyaan 63 brings Vikram back together with director Anand Shankar after their collaboration on 2016's Iru Mugan. The 2016 film, whose title means a 'two-faced man', released in theatres to mixed reviews from critics and audiences, but it performed quite well at the box office. According to reports, the film earned around 100 crore from theatres worldwide.
The upcoming film also stars Riya Shibu, who is best known for her performances in last year's Sarvam Maya and this year's Athiradi, and Shammy Thilakan. Notably, Riya produced Vikram's last film Veera Dheera Sooran: Part – 2 along with Mumthas M. Part of the excitement around Chiyaan 63 stems from the critical appreciation for Veera Dheera Sooran: Part – 2. Although Veera Dheera Sooran did not do as well as possible at the box office, it earned much appreciation for its storytelling and the performances in the main roles, including those from Vikram, SJ Suryah, and Dushara Vijayan.
