Wunderbar Films, Dhanush's production banner, shared the first single from his upcoming film Om earlier this Tuesday, coinciding with the actor's birthday. Dhanush's Om co-star Mammootty also shared a link to the song while wishing him on his birthday. Titled 'Alaakaa Loova,' the first song from the film is a fast-paced number usually called a 'kuthu song'. The track is composed and sung by Sai Abhyankkar, with additional vocals by Francis and Kataaka Choral Ensemble. The song has lyrics by Rokesh and dance choreography by Sandy Master. It also offers a first proper look at Mammootty's character in the film. Recently, the makers shared a poster featuring a brief glimpse of the legendary actor's role in the film but not a full, proper look at him.

In the video for the Om first single, Dhanush can be seen dancing energetically, pulling off some difficult dance steps. At one point, he does the type of step that Nani recently pulled off in the song 'Aaya Sher' from The Paradise and that is known as the 'hook step'.

Om is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of Amaran fame. Recently, Rajkumar, Dhanush, Mammootty, and editor R Kalaivanan won their National Awards, and they celebrated it with a customary cake-cutting ceremony on the set of the film. Rajkumar Periasamy also shared the song link and wished his lead actor on his birthday. "Happy birthday dear @Dhanushkraja sir! May you stay happy and blessed. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead," the director wrote. In an exclusive conversation with CE after his National Award win, Rajkumar praised his lead actors.

The upcoming film also stars Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela. The film is set to hit theatres on October 16, Friday. Meanwhile, here is a link to the first single from it:
