Aadhi Pinisetty returns along with Nikki Galrani for Maragadha Naanayam 2, the makers announced by unveiling a promo video on Thursday, on the occasion of Pongal. The makers have added Sathyaraj and Priya Bhavani Shankar to the cast of the sequel.

The sequel is set to be helmed by ARK Saravanan, who also helmed Maragadha Naanayam (2017). The film will also star Munishkanth, Anandaraj, Danie, Arunraja Kamaraj, and Muruganandam, among others.

On the technical front, the film will feature music composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas and camera work by PV Shankar and editing by Thirumalai Rajan R. More details about the film's plot and genre are yet to be announced by the makers.

Maragadha Naanayam 2 will be backed by Passion Studios, Axess Film Factory, Good Show, Dangal TV and RDC Media. Producers of the project are Sudhan Sundaram, Dev, KV Durai, Manish Singhal, and Durgaram Choudhary. Co-producers are RC Rajkumar, Akshat Singhal and Mohit Singhal.

The 2017 film Maragadha Naanayam marked the maiden directorial venture of ARK Saravan. The film starred Aadhi, Nikki Galrani, Anandraj, Munishkanth and Daniel in lead roles. Senguttuvan (Aadhi) and Elango (Daniel) are petty thieves hired by a smuggler to find a treasure that curses people to death. The duo summon three spirits to help locate the treasure, with the help of a priest. What follows is a hilarious ride as they get entangled in mystical factors.
