When Mamitha Baiju suddenly broke into 'Naalai Naalai endru
Indrai ilakathae..' from Azhagiya Tamizh Magan while paying tribute to Vijay at the Jana Nayagan audio launch, it eventually turned out to be a goldmine for meme creators, who made fun of the actor's singing skills. The moment continues to dominate reels and shorts on social media. Meanwhile, Mamitha has responded to all the sarcasm that she has been subjected to for the last few weeks.
Speaking to the media after a screening for Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan's latest romantic comedy With Love, Mamitha said that she is also enjoying all the memes about her performance at the Jana Nayagan audio launch. "People view it as a piece of entertainment, and I am looking at it the same way," Mamitha said. "It is all fun," she added.
Recently, Mamitha's Premalu co-star Sangeeth Prathap also said that the trolls do not affect his friend.
Mamitha plays Vijay's daughter in the film, directed by H Vinoth. The actor got rather emotional at its audio launch event held recently in Malaysia. She also cried on the last day of filming, considering the fact that Jana Nayagan serves as a swan song for his favourite actor Vijay before his full foray into politics. She has had a long shoot with Vijay for the film as her character has a major presence in its narrative.
Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan continues to be in the crosshairs of censorship, with a decision on its release still pending. The film, which also stars Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Narain, and Priyamani, among others, was originally slated for a Pongal release. However, a member of the Censor Board objected to the others' decision to give it censorship clearance, contributing to an indefinite delay in its release.
Coming back to Mamitha Baiju, the actor is set to continue her presence in Tamil cinema, with roles in Suriya 46, Irandu Vaanam with Vishnu Vishal, and Kara with Dhanush. In Malayalam, she is part of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, with director Girish AD and co-star Nivin Pauly. A Premalu sequel is also on the cards.
