The barrage of praises continue for Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest film DC. Actor Mahesh Babu is the latest celebrity to appreciate the film. Taking to his X page after watching the action thriller, the Guntur Kaaram star described it as an "original and outstanding film."
"What an original and outstanding film. Just too cool… Loved every bit of it!! Congrats to the entire team…(sic)," he wrote, drawing massive attention from fans. Within hours, director Arun Matheswaran responded to the post, expressing his gratitude to the actor. "Thank you so much, sir! This truly means a lot to me. Seeing you watch and appreciate DC is incredibly special. Really grateful for your love and kind words," he wrote. Anirudh, whose music for the film has been hailed by fans and critics alike, also commented under Mahesh Babu's post, thanking him for sharing his views.
The story of DC follows an outcast, named Devadas (Lokesh Kanagaraj), who fights to keep an innocent family safe after they become police brutality victims. At the same time, he and his compatriots get away from a ruthless police officer, finding justice and redemption and forming unlikely connections during their journey. Besides Lokesh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy play female leads. Aadukalam Naren, Thalaivasal Vijay and Kasthuri Raja also play key roles. Within ten days of release, the film had breached past the Rs 50 crore mark and is inching towards the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone, a massive feat for Lokesh Kanagaraj who made his acting debut through the movie.
DC marks Arun's fourth directorial after Rocky (2021), Saani Kaayidham (2022), and Captain Miller (2024). Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Picutres banner, DC has cinematography by Mukesh G, editing by GK Prasanna, and stunt choreography by PC Stunts.
Mahesh Babu is currently filming for SS Rajamouli's big-budget film Varanasi where he stars alongside Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
