The makers of the upcoming romantic action drama, DC, have unveiled the release trailer for the film. The film, which is directed by Arun Matheswaran, is set to open in theatres on August 7.
DC will feature Lokesh Kanagaraj in his first full-fledged acting role, as Devadas, alongside Wamiga Gabbi, who plays Chandhra, and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy as Parvathi.
The trailer shows Devadas and Chandra being chased by a police officer, as an act of revenge against the killing of another cop. The police officer is also hunting a group of criminals who have robbed a stash of discarded weapons, and are connected to Devadas. While the trailer hints at Devadas seeking momentary solace with Parvathi, it hints at the collision course that Devadas and Chandra have taken to end in a violent manner.
While Arun Matheswaran has written the dialogues along with Franklin Jacob, Arun Ranjan has written the additional screenplay for the film.
Anirudh has composed music for DC, in his first time collaborating with Arun Matheswaran. The composer recently released the full 15-track soundtrack of DC, at an event titled DC Rave, which was held in Chennai. Anirudh has previously worked on all of Lokesh Kanagaraj's works beginning with the Vijay-starrer Master (2021).
The crew of DC includes director of photography Mukesh G, editor GK Prasanna, and art director Kannan S, with stunts by PC Stunts.
Kalanithi Maran is presenting DC under his Sun Pictures banner, which is backing the film.
