Mysskin's long-delayed film Train featuring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role is finally set to see the light of the day, and it might be sooner than what audiences may have expected. In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that his action-thriller may hit theatres on August 26 or 28th and expressed confidence in his hard work for the film.
"It is not a 'great film', but rather a film made with an artistic approach. For a film, there might be anywhere between 450-600 shots. For Train, I have used 2198 shots to showcase the intensity of the fast-paced story. I tested a small camera that has never been used before and shot the film using a new lens. For the first time in India, I have shot an entire train with eight compartments," he explained, elaborating on the efforts taken for the movie.
He further added, "We even broke down two floors and created an entire train set inside the location. The film has some fantastic action sequences."
Reiterating his confidence on the story, Mysskin underlined that Train is a film can be watched as a family. "If you spend your money to watch this film, I am sure you won't regret it. It won't bore you," he added.
The intense teaser of Train, which was released a few weeks back, promises a high-octane action thriller and shows Vijay Sethupathi fighting against armed personnel in a moving train in what appears to be a hostage rescue mission. The video also offers glimpses of the characters played by Shruti Haasan, Narain, and Sampath Raj, among others.
The cast also includes Nasser, Yugi Sethu, KS Ravikumar, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand, Ajay Ratnam, Vincent Ashokan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Thrigun Arun, Ganesh Venkatraman, Preethy Karan, Singampuli, Suresh Chandra Menon, Shaji, Selvaah Chandrasekhar, GR Aathithyaa, Rohan, Kaniha, Janany, Diya Sharma, and Komagan.
On the technical front, Train has music by Mysskin himself, cinematography by Fowzia Fathima, editing by Sri Watson, and art direction by Mohana Mahendran. The film is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner.
