After a long delay, Mysskin's next film, Train, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Shruti Haasan, and Narain in important roles, is set to release in theatres soon. Ahead of its release, the makers of the film dropped a teaser for it and held its audio launch function earlier this Sunday. The teaser shows Vijay Sethupathi fighting against armed personnel in a moving train in what appears to be a hostage rescue mission. The Train teaser also offers glimpses of the characters played by Shruti Haasan, Narain, and Sampath Raj, among others.
Interestingly, the teaser has a brief moment where Shruti Haasan's character takes a gun. Elsewhere, we see a woman holding Vijay Sethupathi's character at gunpoint, sparking curiosity as to whether Shruti plays an antagonist in the film. On the other hand, Narain plays a police officer, seemingly trying to coordinate the rescue mission, in the film.
The Train teaser promises a high-octane action thriller, reminiscent of Hollywood films such as The Taking of Pelham 123 and Snowpiercer, to name two. The cast also includes Nasser, Yugi Sethu, KS Ravikumar, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand, Ajay Ratnam, Vincent Ashokan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Thrigun Arun, Ganesh Venkatraman, Preethy Karan, Singampuli, Suresh Chandra Menon, Shaji, Selvaah Chandrasekhar, GR Aathithyaa, Rohan, Kaniha, Janany, Diya Sharma, and Komagan.
On the technical front, Train has music by Mysskin himself, cinematography by Fowzia Fathima, editing by Sri Watson, and art direction by Mohana Mahendran. The film is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner.
Train started production way back in 2023 and wrapped it in the year afterwards. However, its release has since been in limbo. With the latest update, hope springs anew for the imminent theatrical release of the film, with the makers using the words 'coming soon' in the teaser. Recently, Vijay Television came onboard as the film's satellite partner.
