Mysskin's long-delayed film Train is all set to see a release soon and the cast and crew were part of a grand teaser launch on Sunday to share details on the project. Speaking at the event, the Thupparivalan filmmaker heaped praise on Vijay Sethupathi and his performance in his movie.
"Nobody besides Vijay Sethupathi could have pulled off this role. If you ask me, 'Wouldn't Kamal sir have played it well?'. No, I don't think so. Even a big star like Aamir Khan couldn't have done it. When a script is written for some person and he comes inside the project, he takes on the role as his own. Vijay Sethupathi is like a massive volcano. When I keep looking at the scenes from the film, I can see that. I don't want to blow my own trumpet, calling the film good. Audiences will decide that. I will never talk about my film, if movie wasn't good, beat me with slippers. My film should run only if the film is good," he shared, sharing his appreciation for the actor.
"Vijay Sethupathi has done an extraordinary performance in the film. It is selfless. I will never forget that. I couldn't work with greats like Laurence Olivier or Choi Min-sik, but I had the opportunity to work with Vijay Sethupathi," he added.
The intense teaser of Train promises a high-octane action thriller and shows Vijay Sethupathi fighting against armed personnel in a moving train in what appears to be a hostage rescue mission. The video also offers glimpses of the characters played by Shruti Haasan, Narain, and Sampath Raj, among others.
The cast also includes Nasser, Yugi Sethu, KS Ravikumar, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand, Ajay Ratnam, Vincent Ashokan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Thrigun Arun, Ganesh Venkatraman, Preethy Karan, Singampuli, Suresh Chandra Menon, Shaji, Selvaah Chandrasekhar, GR Aathithyaa, Rohan, Kaniha, Janany, Diya Sharma, and Komagan.
On the technical front, Train has music by Mysskin himself, cinematography by Fowzia Fathima, editing by Sri Watson, and art direction by Mohana Mahendran. The film is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner.
A release date for Train is yet to be specified by the makers.
